The Museum Archives holds information on people, places, shipping and ship building, sporting events, businesses, and churches relating to Warkworth and the outlying districts. There are books and many photographs relating to the past as well as an extensive collection of family histories and social histories, school records, church and cemetery records.

The inventory of historical documents is being added to constantly now that it is recognised that the museum is able to take care of these valuable items.

The Museum actively seeks donations of historical material for the archives - many families in the district have lodged their family material for safe-keeping and preservation with the museum. See our Collections Policy page for more details.

If you would like to visit the Archives to do research, please contact the Manager/Curator to make an appointment, so that one of our archivists can be available to help you. The times for visits are 10.30am - 12.30pm or 1.30pm - 3.00pm on Wednesdays.

If Wednesday is not suitable, please make arrangements with the Manager/Curator for another more suitable time. There is a small charge of $3/hour for assisted research.

Requests for research to be undertaken by the Archivists are welcome.

If you would like some research done for you see our Contact Us page for our physical address, fax and telephone numbers and our email address. We welcome postal, email or telephone enquiries.

A charge of $20 per hour is charged for research done by the Archivists.
